Title Sequence - The Conventional Order

In todays lesson, we focused on the conventional order and the title sequence of a thriller film.
We focused on the order, fonts and the transition.

The Stepfather (2009) followed the tradition convention order:
Ident/logo of production company.                    Production company name.                                      Disturbitor

Name of film.                                                     Cast (Actors/Actresses names).                                               Cast

Casting by.                                                                        Music Supervisor                                       Music By

Editor                                                                          Production Designer                                      Director of photography
Coventional Order:
  • Ident/ logo of prodcution and disturbion companys
  • Production company title
  • Name
  • Cast
  • Casting by
  • Costume designer
  • Music by
  • Editor
  • Production designer
  • Director of photography
  • Excutive producers
  • Writters
  • Director.
The order of the title sequence is in a specific order and like a Hierarachy. This order is the order of importance, who earns most money. Traditionally, the most important people are usually named first (production companys) and last (directors).

In the Stepfather the font used was a simple, standard and ordinary font. However, all the letters of the name of  the film, "The Stepfather" was uppercase to emphasize the name of the film and the stepfather in the film being Tall and regimented! All of the letters of the title sequence are presented in an organized and neat way like the main character (the stepfather) in this film. Then, the letters of the title sequences dissolves and breaks up.
