Planning - Intial Ideas & mood board.

As a group, we had already decided to create a psychological thriller.

We did a brainstorm to help us generate ideas and before thinking of the film opening we need to come up with a narrative.
We all agreed Silences of the Lambs (1991) is one of the best psychological thrillers out there in the market and we should based out narrative similar to Silences of the Lamb, however, with our twist.

In our film, we wanted a psycho killer and a lead female like Silences of the Lambs.

To help us come up with a name for our film, we decided to go on thesaurus.com to help us with words associated with Physco.

Screen from Slumdog Millionaire (2009) where Dev Patel gets woken up by someone who constant dips his
head in water.
We wanted a torture scene for our opening with the victim's flashback. The torture screen will able to set up the mood of the film and the flashback hint the audience possible narratives of the film, however, not giving away too much. We definitely wanted to incorporate a shot of a scene where the killer gets dunked inside a water bowl.

Rebecca suggested we looked at Die Another Day (2002) since the film started off with a torture scene.

We wanted a torture screen of the killer with quick, close up of the killer's flashback, so we wanted the flashback to be in the style of Se7en (1995) film opening, where they had extreme close up of objects associated with the scenario.
